ApeCoin DAO-N Low #29
To the Bored,
Good evening and thanks for reading the 29th edition of the Bored Ape Gazetteās ApeCoin DAO-N Low newsletter!
This September there is certainly something brewing in the $Ape ecosystem, and all signs point to this month being anything but boring.
From two new $Ape powered games launching in the coming weeks, the fourth quarter of $Ape staking rewards beginning soon, andĀ four AIPS on the ballot this week,Ā thereās certainly a lot to $Ape into.
So without further ado, let's get āDAO-N Lowā on the DAO!
To begin, the $Ape ecosystem is preparing for war in Animoca Brandsā player vs player robotic fighting game, āWreck League,ā after the company sold 8,990 Majestic Boxes, that can be used to build a fighting Mech in the game, and 3,079 Booster Boxes, that can be used to further customize Wreck LeaguersāĀ robots, for 1,502,450 $Ape last month.Ā Ā
Leading up to the gameās launch on September 14th, Animoca Brands will be hosting a āFounders Cupā Tournament with eight Web3 creators from across the metaverse on September 9thĀ and then the company will host its first tournament dubbed āMezāiās Mayhemā that will be open to all Mech holders at launch on the 14th!
Along with Animoca Brandsā Wreck League coming out later this month, Yuga Labs also announced that the Beta forĀ its highly anticipated strategy game, Legends of The Mara, will debut sometime in September!
āNext month we release the open beta for LoTM ā and thereās much more to come,ā Yuga Labs tweeted from its Othersidemeta account on August 30th. āWeāve partnered with @farawaygg and are building a major expansion in Unity. But we want to get an early version in the communityās hands now so you can play and provide feedback while we keep building. This chapter of LotM will evolve over the coming months, and more capabilities will be uncovered as the full launch nears. But for now, get ready to hatch your Vessels, gather sediment from your deed, and defend Otherside."
As we wait to find out more about the Legends of The Mara gameplay and the choices that players will have to make, we do know that this 2D standalone experience is powered by ApeCoin!Ā
āOtherside: Legends of the Mara, aka LOTM, is a 2D standalone experience powered by ApeCoin,ā according to @yugalabsā FAQ Page in March 2023. āLOTM is a game that enlists the Otherside Koda collection and introduces a brand new collection called Mara, which can evolve into Kodamara. It begins with every Otherdeed holder being gifted a Vessel. What happens next is up to the player.ā
Along with all these powered by $Ape games preparing to launch, the ApeCoin DAOās fourth quarter staking rewards are preparing to launch on or about September 11th.Ā
Between next Monday, September 11 to December 10th, 2023 the ApeCoin DAOās staking system will distribute 15,000,000 $Ape across the protocol's four staking pools, according to the ApeCoin staking reward schedule in AIP 21 & AIP 22.
During this fourth quarter, the ApeCoin DAO will distribute 4,500,00 $Ape to the $Ape only Pool, 7,065,750 $Ape to the BAYC Pool, 2,859,000 $Ape to the MAYC Pool, and 575,250 $Ape to the BAKC Paired Pool, according to ApeStake.io.
As the $Ape ecosystem gets ready for the fourth quarter of rewards to kick off next week, the DAO also has four Ape Improvement Proposals to vote on this week!Ā
The first proposal on the ballot this week is āAIP-293 titled āAPE rewards for round 2 runner-ups in the elections,ā by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Ape Assembly Spokesperson, BigBull.
If passed, AIP-293 would allocate 12,000 $Ape to the Summer 2023 election season runner ups from the Special Council and Working Group elections, giving them 2,000 $Ape each. This proposal would also allocate 12,000 $Ape to the future runner ups of the December 2023 Special Council and Working Group election season with each of them receiving 2,000 $Ape.
The second AIP on the ballot this week is AIP-299 titled āApeCoin merch for the ApeFest,ā by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Normie.
Normie is asking the DAO to allocate at most $8,300 USD worth of $Ape to create 100 $Ape merch bundles that include a hat, a shirt and a hoodie.
In an interview with the Gazette Normie emphasized that the initial cost for AIP-299 will be 300 USD to get the ball rolling on merch and that the additional funds will only be released after community review of his $Ape merchandise.Ā
āThe initial funding request is only $300,ā Normie said. āOnly if trusted community members approve the initial samples, 50% of additional funding will be released. I have designed milestones to make this as low risk for the DAO as possible.ā
The third proposal on the ballot this week is AIP-300 titled āCreate Custom āBeta Testerā Forum Badge, āby ApeCoin DAO Contributor Hangout and ApeCoin DAO Secretary, Vulkan.
If passed, AIP-300 would establish a Best Testing Group within the DAO and also create a new āBeta Testerā Forum badge that participants can earn. AIP-3oo will not monetarily cost the DAO anything.
The fourth and final proosal on the ballot this week is AIP-291 titled āApprove and Publish ApeCoin DAO Brand Guidelines v1.1 on ApeCoin.com,ā by ApeCoin DAO Contributor MisterHype.
If passed, AIP-291 will make it easier for the community to check out the ApeCoin DAOās style guides and help keep the DAOās messaging consistent.
āHaving consistent and well-defined brand guidelines ensures that all community members present a cohesive image and message to the public,ā MisterHype explained. āBy publishing these guidelines and committing to them, we align with the DAOās mission of transparency, professionalism, and inclusivity.ā
The window to vote on all four of these proposals is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until tomorrow night at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins!
