ApeCoin DAO-n Low #42
To the Bored,
Good evening, and thank you for reading the 42nd edition of the Bored Ape Gazetteâs ApeCoin DAO-n Low newsletter.Â
Itâs officially $Ape-ril, and things are looking ape-ish for the ApeCoin ecosystem as the community heads to the polls to vote on a pair of budget bills for the ApeCoin DAOâs Metaverse Working Group and the Marketing and Communications Working Group. Furthermore, MachiBigBrotherâs Digital Art Movement initiative has acquired 104 Apes and a couple of art pieces. Additionally, the DAO-funded project Thank Ape is offering every ApeCoin DAO Contributor the chance to earn 50 $Ape if they complete five short surveys!Â
With Ape-ril shaping up to be anything but boring for the $Ape ecosystem, let's ape into the news and get the 'DAO-n low' on the ApeCoin DAO!
To begin, the ApeCoin DAO is heading to the polls this week to vote on two budget Ape Improvement Proposals that were put up by the ApeCoin DAOâs recently elected Working Group Stewards.
The first budget AIP on the ballot this week is AIP-403 titled âApeCoin DAO Marketing & Communications (MarComms) Working Group Budgetâ written by MarComms Working Group Steward Popil.
âThis proposal aims to refine the ApeCoin branding, enhancing standardization and proactive communication,â Popil wrote. âStrengthening internal and external communication, encouraging onboarding, and increasing community participation. Initiatives such as social media engagement and in-person events will effectively structure brand narratives. MarComms aims to foster a more creative, globally-connected, and linguistically diverse community environment.â
In total, Popil is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $493,000 USD worth of $Ape to fund the MarComms Working Groupâs first six months of operational needs so they can start marketing and expanding the $Ape brand.
With this budget, Popil plans to create and support a 'content ecosystem' to deliver a mini-series for the DAO and initiate a 'MarComms Event Series', wherein the MarComms team will fund $Ape community events and support key global crypto and NFT events.
The second budget AIP on the ballot this week is AIP-404 titled ApeCoin DAO Metaverse Working Group Budget written by Metaverse Working Group Steward, Dim.
âThe main objectives of the MWG is to develop ApeCoin culture in the Metaverse and support Developers, Builders and Content Creators of the ApeCoin ecosystem through different initiatives like the creation of the ApeCoin Creators Assembly,â Dim.Eth wrote. âBut also through a specific grant program and the promotion of creatorâs initiatives both online and offline. The MWG is also developing the ApeCoin presence in different Metaverses and Game platforms through asset acquisition, development of experiences and games starting with the Otherside Strategy already in discussion in the forum and more in the work.â
In total, Dim is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $415,500 USD worth of $Ape to fund the Metaverse Working Groupâs first six months of operational needs so they propel $Ape across Web3.
With these funds, Dim plans to promote the committee online and offline, establish a Creators Assembly, start an ApeCoin creators grant program, and launch a sponsorship program that will let theApeCoin DAO collaborate with Web3 builders like Nifty Island and Faraway Gaming Studio, thus expanding Apeâs reach.
The window to vote on these two budgets is currently open and ApeCoin DAO contributors have until Wednesday, April 3rd, at 9 P.M. EST to cast their coins and vote on these AIPs.
As the community heads to the polls, ApeCoin DAO Contributor MachiBigBrother and the âDAMâ Team have been heading to the market to purchase Apes and art as part of the Digital Art Movementâs $11 million $Ape art collection initiative.
At the time of this articleâs publication, DAM has acquired 97 Bored Apes, 7 Mutant Apes, A Fidenza By Tyler Hobbs, and a Twelvefold Ordinal.
As DAM continues to accumulate Apes and art, the team will work to get these assets showcased in museums and galleries around the world as well as create their DAM token, which will represent fractionalized ownership and control of the DAM initiativeâs NFT collection.
âDAM tokens will be a fair-launch project, with zero team token allocation,â Machi wrote in his DAM Ape Improvement Proposal. âInitial token distribution will go to users that timelock ApeCoin for up to 5 years, decentralizing governance to the ApeCoin community. One ApeCoin locked for 5 years creates an initial balance of one time locked APE (tlAPE), with the balance decaying linearly over time toward unlock. This means 100 ApeCoins locked for 5 years is equal to 500 ApeCoins locked for 1 year.â
As DAM spends $Ape on NFTs, another ApeCoin DAO funded initiative, ThankApe, is giving every ApeCoin DAO Contributor the opportunity to earn 50 $Ape by answering five surveys between now and April 9th.
âThe fifth and last weekly topical survey during Season 5 is now available to complete here to earn 5 APE: https://app.deform.cc/form/c9fd7eef-ebb8-46f6-908f-4a050118d31b/âŠ.,â ThankApe tweeted today. âThis week's topic is Community. You are now in your final week to not only complete this survey for APE rewards, but all five surveys with a total value of 25 APE PLUS a bonus 25 APE for completing all of them. That's 50 APE for my fellow smoothbrains.â
Thank you so much for reading this weekâs edition of the ApeCoin DAO-N Low and be sure to follow the Bored Ape Gazette on Twitter to stay up to date with all things $Ape!
Best,
Kyle
