ApeCoin DAO-N Low #5
To the Bored,
Good evening and thanks for reading the fifth edition of the ApeCoin DAO-N Low. While there are no Ape Improvements Proposals on the ballot this week, the ApeCoin DAO has been anything but boring!
From several AIPs recently getting passed to updates on everything from the official ApeCoin Marketplace to staking, thereâs a lot to get the âDAO-N Lowâ on.
Without further ado, letâs begin with the three AIPs that the Community overwhelmingly voted to approve last week.
The first AIP that the DAO approved of was AIP-88 titled, âEarn ApeCoin Revenue Through Our No-Code NFT Drop Platform & Launchpad,â by NiftyKit Founder and Bored Ape Yacht Club member, Dan.
âWe are honored to have our AIP accepted by the community and canât thank everyone enough for the support and feedback,â Dan told the Bored Ape Gazette after the vote. âWe are looking forward to helping grow the ApeCoin community and showing how creative ideas can come to life if you put the right tools in the hands of the right creators."
As a result of the community approving AIP-88, the ApeCoin Dao will allocate 8500 $Ape per month for three months to assist NiftyKit with adding $Ape to its established NFT launchpad system.
The second AIP approved last week was AIP-91 titled, âPlatform To Connect Talent Within the Ape Communityâ by BAYC member Holocronape.âÂ
âIn summary, itâs a marketplace (platform) where the Apes will be able to include their talents or what fields they have experience and believe they can help to the community but on the other side, instead of being businesses/agencies, they will be the Apes themselves,â Holocronape wrote in AIP-91.
As a result of AIP-91 passing, the ApeCoin DAO will now allocate 23,000 $Ape to funding this platform. Holoncronape estimates that the 1.0 version of his site dubbed âApe & Talentâ will be ready within four months.
The final AIP approved last week was AIP-96 titled, âFunding for Public Goods (ETHGlobal & Gitcoin),â by BAYC member and ApeCoin Special Council Member Maaria Bajwa.Â
As a result of AIP-96 passing, the ApeCoin Dao will allocate a total of $200,000 USD worth of $Ape to the following four public goods:
1.$45k to participate in the ETHOnline hackathon ($35k sponsorship fee + $10k in prizes)
2.$100k for funding a dedicated Gitcoin ApeCoin ecosystem program
3.$50k for funding Gitcoinâs Climate, DEI, and Advocacy program
4.$5k to donate to another community at ETHOnline. We can match funding, sponsor a prize pool, or donate it to cover expenses for low-income community members.
As the community passed three more AIPs, the ApeCoin DAOâs official marketplace, Snag Solutions, gave the community an update on when the platform will launch.
As the Gazette previously reported, the ApeCoin DAO approved of AIP-98, AKA Snag Solutionsâ $Ape marketplace, on September 22nd.
As a result of AIP-98 passing, Snag Solutions will get a six-month lease on a dedicated URL pointed to its site and a link to its URL from the ApeCoin homepage along with âTwitter post(s) at launch,â,according to the proposal.
Since the ApeCoin DAO voted to approve of Snag Solutionsâ marketplace in September, the company has been working hard to get its marketplace operational by âearly November,â according to Snag Solutions recent Twitter post.Â
Along with Snag Solutions giving the community an update on when its marketplace will be live, the platform also informed the community that Solidity.io will audit its code and listed seven possible BAYC members to be the marketplaceâs multi-sig wallet signers.Â
As Snag Solutions plans its marketplaceâs grand opening for early November, Horizen Labs plans to launch $Ape staking in late October.
On September 22nd, Horizen Labs, the company that created ApeCoin and was tasked with creating the DAOâs staking system, took to Twitter and announced that its âgo live dateâ for $Ape staking was October 31st or Halloween.
Finally, as the community focuses on staking and the upcoming marketplace, the ApeCoin DAO will be holding an important office hour meeting on October 5th on DAO governance and AIP-113.
As the Gazette previously reported, the DAO informed the community that the Apecoin Special Councilâs term was culminating at the end of September. As a result, the DAO asked the community to extend the Councilâs terms in AIP-113 to keep the DAO operational and give the community time to work on an election process. This AIP was approved of, and the Special Councilâs term was extended by three months.Â
Now the community and the Special Council are working to determine what the election process looks like going forward.
The Bored Ape Gazette will be at tomorrow nightâs meeting and will have a full report on what was discussed. Stay tuned for updates!
Sincerely,
Kyle
