To begin, Iād like to wish everyone a Happy Valentineās Day; whether youāre spending the day with your significant other or your J-Pegs!Ā
For those of you who may have forgotten that it's Valentineās Day, fear not! The Bored Ape Council has you covered with some amazing BAYC themed Valentine cards that are perfect for that special someone!
With that friendly reminder that today is indeed a holiday, let's ape into the news from across the Yugaverse!
To begin, the sewers underneath the Bored Ape Yacht Club closed on February 8th and DooKey Dash came to an end.Ā
After 21 days, 25,525 unique DooKey Dashers ran through the sewers underneath the swamp a collective 7,631,869 times. During those runs, Dashers purchased 200,684 PowerShart power up packs for 401,368 $Ape or $2,488,482 USD, according to Dookeystats.com.
Following the Sewerās closure, the BAYC announced that it would be pushing back the Summoning event to March 8th. By pushing the summoning event back, the club has more time to review the scores from the DooKey Dash and make sure that everything that took place in the gutter was above bored!
āWeāre taking additional time to review Sewer Pass scores,ā the BAYC tweeted on February 9th. Weāll announce the final Leaderboard and official winner of the Key on Feb. 15th. 2/15: Final leaderboard and winner of the Key announced. Sewer Passes will receive a metadata update to display finalized rank and score.ā
At this time, the unofficial winner of the DooKey Dash, and the coveted Key that is lodged inside Jimmy the Monkeyās butthole, is professional gamer and Youtuber, Mongraal, with a high score of 928,522 points!
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the DooKey Dash leaderboard and will keep you posted on the Sewer Pass metadata update tomorrow!
Following the BAYCās score review and metadata update tomorrow, DooKey Dashers will be heading back into the sewer for the BAYCās next event on February 22nd dubbed, āLick The Toad.ā
"Coming soon, a limited-time event is coming to Dookey Dash, giving you a chance to join Gary in the sewer to catch toads and unlock a companion trait," Yuga Labs wrote on February 9th. "500 of these traits will go to the top 500 scores in the event (based on length of run, fragments collected, and objects bonked). Another 2,000 of the traits will go to the 2,000 top toad catchers (based on the most toads caught in a single run; all toads are counted equally). More on this soon ā weāll give you a heads up on when this event will start and end."
