Keeping Tabs On The Lab #24
To the Bored,
Good evening and thank you for reading the 24th edition of the Bored Ape Gazette’s Keeping Tabs on the Lab newsletter.
The past few weeks have been like the calm before the storm, and there’s definitely something brewing around the Yuga Labs ecosystem. From an exciting gaming update to a Gucci snapshot, and the Apecoin DAO’s second election season; things are anything but boring around the swamp.
With all that and more happening around the Yugaverse let’s ape into the news and keep tabs on the lab.
To begin, the Bored Ape Yacht Club released a new trailer for its upcoming HV-MTL Forge game and announced that it is forging ahead with its plan to launch the game this month.
“HV-MTL Forge, the BAYC tweeted along with a 42-second teaser trailer. “Build. Flex. Fight. Evolve. Season 1 begins June 29th.”
In the video, HV-MTL holders learned that they will get to build their HV's homes and showcased a lot of customization options for creators.
Further, HV-MTL holders will have the chance to “flex” their Forges and work their way up the leaderboard.
While we still do not know much about the Forge’s gameplay, we do know that flexing Hv’s homes and being creative will play a big role in this game and also the HV-MTLs’ stories going forward.
“In HV-MTL Forge: build and customize a workshop that prepares your HVs for their evolution,” the BAYC wrote on its HV-MTL website in March 2023. “Show off your creations to climb the leaderboard and unlock special abilities. Take risks and face the dangers of the rift to discover blueprints, gather materials, and craft upgrades.”
After today’s HV-MTL update, BAYC Co-Founder Garga took to Twitter and told everyone to stay tuned for updates as the club forges ahead towards the game’s launch.
“Stoked to crack open Forge next week, Garga tweeted. “Bunch more content coming between now and then to prep you for the experience, but like Dookey Dash, it will just make sense once you’ve played for a bit.”
As the community awaits more news and information on the HV-MTL Forge, Yuga Labs took to Twitter today and reminded Voyagers who purchased a Gucci Otherside Relic KodaPendant that they will be doing a snapshot for the physical necklace tomorrow morning.
“GM Voyagers! It’s almost time to claim your physical KodaPendant,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account. “We will be taking a snapshot of KodaPendant holders on June 21, 2023 at 10 AM ET. Any KodaPendants purchased after the snapshot WILL NOT be able to claim a physical KodaPendant.”
Following the KodaPendant snapshot, the window for holders to claim their Gucci KodaPendant necklaces will open on June 21st at 12 P.M. EST. Holders will then have until July 6th at 12 P.M. EST to claim their IRL Otherside Relics, according to Gucci.
Gucci’s physical KodaPendants are made entirely of 925 sterling silver and feature a Koda-shaped pendant on a Gucci G-chain. Take a closer look at the necklace below:
As Voyagers get ready to get their Gucci Otherside Relics, ApeCoin DAO contributors are getting ready to wrap up the first round of $Ape office voting tomorrow night!
For the past few weeks, the ApeCoin community has had the chance to meet the nominees who are running for the two open seats on the DAO’s Special Council and the two Steward positions on the DAO’s newly formed Governance Working Group.
$Ape holders will have until June 21st at 9 P.M. ESt to cast their coins and vote for their preferred candidates.
Following this first round of voting, the top five vote-getting nominees will move on to the second and final round of the Special Council & Governance Working Group election process, where the community will elect its four new $Ape officer holders!
