Keeping Tabs On The Lab #31
To the Bored,
Good evening and thank you for reading the 31st edition of the Bored Ape Gazetteās Keeping Tabs on The Lab newsletter!
Itās officially Fall around the swamp and it appears that autumn is for the Apes as Yuga Labs launches another game, announces a new collaboration with a major streetwear brand, and revealed its four new Otherside partners! All of this is keeping the typically Bored Apes, and the expanded Yugaverse, entertained!
With so much happening around the swamp, let's ape into the news and keep tabs on the lab!
To begin, Yuga Labs launched its highly anticipated Legends of The Mara strategy game today, and Voyagers have been ape-ing into the game and nesting their Vessels all day!
āCalling all Voyagers: LoTM is now live,ā Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account this afternoon āHatch your Mara, harvest your Otherdeedās Sediment Fragments, and defend your land from Shattered. https://lotm.otherside.xyz/camp The journey begins now.ā
For those who have not been following LoTM, remember it's a card-based strategy game where Voyagers must fight the Shattered to defend Otherside and farm for fragments to transform their Maras into more powerful beings.
āLegends of the Mara Season 1 open beta goes live Sept. 26,ā Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account along with a 64 second teaser trailer earlier this month. āDuring S1, hatch Mara. Koda holders get a head start on farming Fragments and hunting Shattered. Beta loot will be mintable at the end of each season and include items for LOTMās expanding gameplay.ā
Before Voyagers can participate in the game, they must burn their original Otherdeeds for an Otherdeed expanded NFT and claim a Vessel on Yuga Labsā website here: https://lotm.otherside.xyz/expandedĀ
After this, Voyagers will be able to play the game and nest their first vessel! Remember, Farmer Maras work towards finding sediment fragments and a Seasonal Catalyst to transform Maras into a more powerful Kodamara, Hunter Maras fight the Shattered and collect treasure, and Enchanter Maras boost Hunter, and Famer Maras ability perform their duties.
As Yuga Labs launched its latest game today, the company revealed its latest collaboration with A Bathing Ape yesterday!
On Monday, the BAYC causally announced that they are collaborating with BAPE and debuting its new line of merch at Ape Fest 2023 and that more Bathing Bored lines may be in the works because Apes are stronger together.
āWeāve worked with BAPEĀ® to reimagine iconic designs from their deep archive, with one foot in their Ura-Harajuku roots and the other in the BAYC swamp,ā Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga said about the partnership in a statement last night. āThis first collaboration is all about the community, where BAYC members and BAPEĀ® Heads receive exclusive early access to the apparel and accessories in the limited-edition collection. The collection makes its debut at ApeFest on November 4, where Apes can purchase onsite, or online with token-gated access. Then, it drops exclusively for BAPETAVERSE members online. Finally, in December the collection arrives at BAPE STOREĀ® and BAPE.COM globally, where the public can access.ā
Along with this new clothing collaboration, Yuga Labs made major waves around the OthersideĀ recently after they announced four new technology partnerships and new information about whatās ahead for the metaverse.
Last week, Yuga Labs announced new partnerships with the spatial technology company Hadean, the platform technology company AccelByte, the gaming studio Bad Rhino Studios, and the gaming studio and publisher Faraway, according to a press release. These four partners will work with Yuga Labs and help them accelerate towards making Otherside a reality!
Following the announcement of these new partnerships last week, Yuga Labsā Otherside General Manager, Eric Reid, gave Voyagers a state of the Otherside post yesterday and explained how adding these new partners will help them make a meaningful metaverse!
āTo make it happen, and at massive scale, requires deep collaboration from creators and technologists,ā Reid wrote. āAs Mike Seavers noted last week, new and existing AAA partners who continue to align with us in support of our long-term goals for a persistent, interoperable Otherside, are one critical aspect for all of us.ā
Along with reiterating the importance of partners, Reid also told Voyagers that āITāS GO TIMEā and that there will be a lot more Otherside news and experiences coming up.
āIn the coming weeks and months, you are going to start to see more Otherside content and experiences and, as always, your feedback will be important to ensuring Otherside has the fun and substance you want,ā Reid wrote. āIt will be time to be seen and be heard in Othersideās development, as it will when Otherside is online.ā
Reid revealed that Yuga Labs plans to host a private Otherside showing in Europe very soon and that Yuga Labs plans to incorporate Otherside into Ape Fest 2023!
Thank you so much for reading this weekās edition of Keeping Tabs On The Lab and be sure to follow the Bored Ape Gazette on Twitter for all things Yuga!
Sincerely,
