Keeping Tabs On The Lab #39
To the Bored,
Good evening and thank you for reading the 39th edition of the Bored Ape Gazetteâs Keeping Tabs on the Lab newsletter!
We are one month into 2024 and its safe to say that we are âBAYC,â as the Bored Ape Yacht Club and its parent company, Yuga Labs, have recently released an updated website filled with new content and easter eggs, announced the rerelease of its popular videogame Dookey Dash, introduced the community to its first ever Gaming Council, and invited the BAYC community to a day on the Otherside next month!
With so much happening around the swamp letâs ape into the news and keep tabs on the lab!
Last week, the Bored Ape Yacht Clubâs website got a âM-Apeâ over, transforming from a standard website into the dingy yacht club in the middle of the Everglades that it was always meant to be!
âOld site was getting a little dusty,â the club tweeted today. âThis oneâs still a work-in-progress, but there's some cool stuff in there already. Add your Ape (via delegation), click around, let us know what you think.â
This new site includes a community phone book that Apes can use to connect with their fellow primates, an area filled with BAYC history, and a collection section where Apes can check out the Yugaverse!
The BAYCâs new clubhouse themed website is part of the Yuga Labsâ broader âAt The Clubhouseâ theme, according to the Clubâs Creative Director, Jeff Nicholas.
âEverything we do as BAYC is being refocused on an overarching narrative weâre calling âAT THE CLUBHOUSE,â Nicholas explained last week. âWhere, more than a place, the Clubhouse takes its seat as the heartbeat of the club, just as BAYC is the heartbeat of @yugalabs. The Clubhouse is where we meet, vibe, collect, play, get weird, build and grow. The idea that the âClubhouseâ is wherever Apes gather around the world, online or IRL. (But also yes, at our IRL Clubhouse)â
The BAYCâs website is not the only thing getting revamped around the Yugaverse. Last week, the BAYC announced that its popular Dookey Dash video game, that Apes spent way too much time playing last year, will be rereleased as Dookey Dash Unclogged and everyone in the world will be invited to compete for insane prizes later this year!
âThe goal of Dookey Dash Unclogged is to put BAYC and Yuga into a million people's pockets,â Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga tweeted after the announcement. "(In the dumbest way possible lol).â
As Yuga Labs works to get its game into a million peopleâs pockets, the company invited 21 BAYC to join its newly created Gaming Council, whose mission is to help Yuga Labs make that goal a reality. Take a look at whoâs on the council below:
Dookey Dash Unclogged isnât the only game that Apes have to look forward to. Earlier this month Yuga Labs also announced that the BAYC community would be breaking on through to the Otherside for a day in the swamp this February!
âJoin us for a day in the swamp,â Yuga Labs tweeted from its Otherside account on January 9th âFebruary 2024.â
At this time we do not know what this day in the swamp will entail, but we do know that the 3D models of everyoneâs Apes are made and ready for the metaverse!
Thank you so much for reading this weekâs edition of Keeping Tabs On The Lab and be sure to follow the Bored Ape Gazette on Twitter to stay up to date with all things Yuga!
Best,
Kyle
