Keeping Tabs On The Lab #41
To the Bored,
Good evening and thank you for reading the 41st edition of the Bored Ape Gazetteâs Keeping Tabs On The Labs Newsletter!
Itâs game on around the swamp after Apes and Voyagers visited Bored Ape Island and took tons of selfies, Meebits learned that theyâll be heading to Meetropolis soon for a âpretty big event,â Season 3 of Legends of The Mara began, and Dookey Dash Uncloggedâs three day Stress test tourney kicks off tomorrow!Â
With so many games loading up across the Yugaverse, letâs lock into the news and keep tabs on the labâs gaming endeavors!
To begin, Bored Ape Yacht Club members got to explore Bored Ape Island as their primates on the Otherside last week alongside their Voyager frens during the âApes Come Home Eventsâ On February 29th.
During these events, thousands of Apes and Voyagers explored the swamp, checked out the Clubhouse, went to the bathroom, and took a ton of selfies with Yuga Labsâ âKoda cam.â
After the events, Yuga Labsâ Otherside General Manager told the community that this was not a third trip but rather the communityâs first experience in Yuga Labsâ persistent metaverse.
âA few people have called this a third trip, but I want to distinguish It was really not meant to be a trip,â Reid said .âIt was not meant to be a standalone experience that was narrated through and handheld, that was one off that couldnât be repeated unless you started it from scratch. This was the first event that was on the real Otherside platform. In a way where everyoneâs account is persistent and where we can turn it on and do things. So, this is the beginning of us being able to host things in a more regular way without each one being a giant event."
Speaking of âgiant events,â Reid also teased that the Meebits community will be stretching their legs on Otherisde later this spring when they travel to Meetropolis for their version of a first trip!
âWe are going to have a pretty big event that will feel on the scale of those (First and Second Trips) for sure with Meebits, it will be 1.3, this spring,â he said. âSo thatâs going to be a big thing.â
As the voxels get ready to visit Meetroplis soon, Voyagers journeyed into the Legends of the Mara for the third final season of this iteration of the game, before it goes mobile and gets opened up to the masses later this year.
âSeason 3 will last 8 weeks and end on May 7th,â Yuga Labs announced yesterday. âThis will be our final season of the LoTM Open Beta. Whatâs next? Bringing LoTM to everyone. The full release of LoTM, launching in partnership w/@farawaygg, is an experience open to all, where Kodas reign as the captains, and Kodamara, Mara & Friends will round out the rest of your crew. The game will launch later this year, with playtesting kicking off after Season 3.â
As Voyagers start playing LOTM today, 10,000 Apes, Normies, and Degens are getting ready to ape into the sewers below the BAYC for Yuga Labsâ Dookey Dash Unclogged three day stress test tournament in the hopes of winning an insane Mutant Ape!
âThe Dookey Dash: Unclogged Closed Beta Tournament kicks off tomorrow,â Yuga Labs tweeted from its gaming account. âThose selected will receive invite emails from no_reply@email.apple.com and support@yugalabs.io. You will not need to connect your wallet to play, but to be eligible for prizes, youâll need to login to DDU with your @farawaygg account. Learn more about creating a Faraway account and connecting your wallet at http://faq.faraway.com. Itâs finally time to get those plungers ready.â
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Dookey Dash Unclogged is Yuga Labsâ attempt at getting the company and the BAYC into millions of peoplesâ hands âin the dumbest way possibleâ while also empowering members of the community, and creators outside it, to make and monetize their IP via User Generated Content.Â
If you were not picked to compete in the Dookey Dash Stress Test Tourney, fear not.Â
Yuga Labs plans to have Dookey Dash Unclogged launched and available for everyone to play by the end of Quarter one AKA March 31st, according to the companyâs previous posts.
Thank you so much for reading this weekâs edition of Keeping Tabs On The Lab and be sure to follow the Bored Ape Gazette on Twitter to stay up to date with all things Yuga!
Best,
